Monthly budget plans

Set a monthly budget for an ad platform or one campaign, and the Campaigns page shows whether the month will end on plan: the spend so far, what was expected by today and the month-end forecast.

Add a plan

  1. Open Campaigns in the project.
  2. In the Monthly plan block, click Add a plan.
  3. Choose the Platform and either The whole platform or one Campaign, then enter the Monthly budget. A Conversions target is optional.
  4. Click Save the plan.

A plan is for an ad platform. If the platform's accounts use different currencies, set the plan for a campaign: amounts in different currencies are never added up, and the plan shows Mixed currencies instead.

How the numbers are counted

  • Actual — spend from the first day of the month to the platform's last loaded day.
  • Expected by now — the plan × the share of the month's days that have passed.
  • Forecast — the actual + the average day of the last 7 loaded days × the days left, the same way as the forecast on Overview.
  • Deviation — the forecast against the plan.

Each plan shows one of On track, Overspending, Underspending or No data, and a bar with the actual, the forecast and a mark for what was expected by today. With a conversions target, the plan also shows the conversions so far and their forecast.

The signal

When the forecast is more than 15% off the plan either way, or the conversions forecast is more than 15% below the target, the Monthly budget pace signal appears. Like every signal it has the numbers, the SQL query that found it and a link to the data, and it goes to email and team chat with the others. More: signals and alerts.
